Your New Resolution

Why are so many of us so accepting of poor vision? We are continuously in the dialogue in our head- my vision is fine, I am fine with my contacts, I like wearing glasses, I have worn glasses for so long- I will miss having it on my face.

I believe everyone has the fundamental right to absorb the world in all its fine glory without being held back by poor vision with or without glasses and contact lens. I have deliberated on the literature and real life experiences detailing the safety of Laser eye surgery, refractive cataract surgery, presbyopia management, implantable contact lens, Lenticular Extraction Refractive Surgery, SMILE, Keratoconus treatment and corneal transplant surgeries.

I would love to explore whether freedom from glasses or contact lens is an option for you. I aim to deliver the best expert vision care in the kindest and most gentle way.

WELCOME TO BETTER QUALITY VISION

A word for your Surgeon

Your vision contributes to two thirds of the input to the brain. All the other senses together only make up one third. Vision is our overwhelming dominant sense and reduced vision profoundly affects our lives. An example of this is poor vision increases the risk of falling and hospitalisation by 2 to 3 times. Spectacle vision correction using varifocal glasses also significantly increases our risk of falls and fractures, especially going down stairs. Also, recent scientific literature establishes that reduced vision doubles our long-term risk of dementia, one of the biggest potentially avoidable factors.
As well as the known medical risks of poor vision, there are also the effects on well-being and the way we feel.
You may be looking at this website as you are not happy with your ability to see clearly. You may also feel limited or restricted by your glasses or contact lenses. It is a common misconception that vision correction is for young people, but there is no upper age limit for the correction or enhancement of your sight. Many people find that the ability to see clearly is liberating.
The decision to have refractive surgery can be exciting, but also can be difficult with natural anxiety for most people. When people attend for consultation I aim to be very reassuring with and provide answers to questions with information and advice.
